The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against Dhaka city mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka's son Ishrak Hossain for not submitting details of his wealth.
ACC's assistant director Mohammad Shamsul Islam filed the case with the police station on Monday morning, Ramna police chief Shibli Noman told bdnews24.com.
On Sunday, Islam filed a similar case against the mayor's daughter Sharika Sadeque.
Shibli Noman said the cases were filed under Section 26 (2) of the Anti-Corruption Act-2009.
The ACC official told bdnews24.com: "On Sep 4, 2009, the commission issued a notice to the mayor's son asking him to submit details of his wealth within seven working days.
"Instead of complying to the notice, Ishrak filed a petition with the High Court challenging the notice. The court stayed the notice until April," he continued.
"The case has been filed after completing necessary procedures after the notice's expiry," added Islam.
He also said copies of the notice were sent to Khoka's government residence at 20 Hare Road and to Ishrak's paternal house at 4/1 Gopibagh First Lane.
The ACC official reasoned for the notice by pointing out that there are a lot of tangible and intangible wealths in Ishrak's name which have no valid source of earning.
