Police arrested nine suspected members of banned militant outfit Allahar Dal at Shariatpur Zila Stadium Monday evening.
Leaflets, books on militant training and a diary containing guidelines to implement the organisation's motto were also seized from their possessions, Prothom Alo reports.
The arrestees are identified as Shafiqul Islam and Ziaul Karim of Pabna, Imdadul Talukder of Barisal, Sihabuddin of Madaripur, Abid Ahmed, Zahidul Islam, Md Sagar Sardar, Sakibuzzaman and Saidul Islam of Shariatpur district.
Officer-in-charge Rabiul Alam of Shariatpur Sadar Police Station said they conducted the drive on the stadium premises on information that the outlaws were taking preparation to carry out subversive activities.
