A Dhaka court on Tuesday placed Sohel Rana on a 10-day remand in connection with the bomb attack on Awami League lawmaker Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh in October last year.
Second Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Zafar Mohammad Samsuzzaman passed the remand order after Assistant Commissioner Akbar Hossain of the Detective Branch produced him before the court with a 10-day remand prayer.
In his forwarding report, Akbar Hossain, also the investigating officer of the case, said Sohel Rana threatened Taposh over cell phone several times and he needs to be taken into remand to find out the clue behind it.
Earlier on February 28, Sohel Rana was shown arrested in a case filed for bomb attack on Taposh following an application submitted by the Detective Branch.
Rapid Action Battalion members arrested Sohel Rana from Khulshi residential area of Chittagong city on charge of threatening Taposh over cell phone on February 22 this year.
