Bangladesh and India border forces have vowed to strengthen mutual cooperation and "be sensitive to each other's concerns" in line with the joint communique issued during prime minister Sheikh Hasina's to New Delhi earlier this year.
Bangladesh Rifles and India's Border Security Force made the vow in a joint briefing on Thursday, the concluding day of the four-day Indo-Bangladesh Border Coordination Conference in New Delhi.
The talks focused on killing of innocent civilians, one of Bangladesh's particular concerns, and movement of terrorists along the borders, an area of high priority for India.
The Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) chief Maj Gen Md Mainul Islam led the 19-member delegation from Bangladesh; while the Indian side was led by the Director General of the country's Border Security Force (BSF) Raman Srivastava.
