Leaders of different left-leaning parties yesterday said the progressive and democratic forces should be united to try the war criminals and resist fundamentalist elements.
Addressing the discussion on the occasion of 'Anti-terrorism Day,' the leaders expressed their dismay over not trying the culprits who had made an attempt to kill Workers' Party of Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon 16 years ago.

Menon said fundamentalist and militant forces unleash destructive activities whenever the month of August comes.
General Secretary Bimol Biswas alleged that the previous government had made the country a fundamentalist nation, but the present government did not take bold steps against the evil forces.
