Nasinghdi weavers' strike enters Day 8

The weavers' strike in Narsinghdi demanding improved employment conditions has entered its eighth day on Tuesday.

The strike, called by the Narsinghdi Textile Workers' Federation, had started on July 13 to press for the weavers' 13 point charter of demands - including the provision of permanent employment, holidays, and a 20 percent rise in wages.

At least 25,000 looms in different parts of the district have stopped production since the start of the indefinite strike.
