A team of International Crimes Tribunal on Monday started investigation into the war crimes charges against former Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami chief Ghulam Azam in Brahmanbaria.
The three-member team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Dhaka Matiur Rahman, reached Brahmanbaria at about 5:00pm Sunday.
The other members of the team are Shyamol Chowdhury and Probir Bhattacharya, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent.
The team started visiting different parts of the district, including former and present district jail, Poirtola Baddhabhumi, Kaltali Soudho Hironmay and Intellectual monument, around 10:00 in the morning.
During the visit, the team members talked to the local people and gathered information.
Matiur Rahman told reports that they would investigate the killings of sub-inspector Shiru Miah and his son during 1971 Liberation War.
