A Dhaka court has granted a two-day remand for Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka metropolitan unit chief Rafiqul Islam Khan.
Dhaka's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court judge Ismail Hossain granted the remand on Monday.
The judge also rejected Rafiqul Islam's bail petition.
Earlier in the day, metropolitan Detective Branch police inspector Fazlur Rahman appealed for a ten-day remand, in a case filed over the pre-hartal (enforced on June 27) violence at the Elephant Road Bata signal, in the capital.
The case was filed with New Market Police Station for attempted murder and setting fire to vehicles plying on the road.
Rafiqul Islam Khan was produced before the court after a three-day remand in the Syed Faruk Hossain murder case, filed with Ramna Police Station.
The same judge granted BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas bail in the same case on Sunday.
